Basco, Batanes – August 16, 2025 — The Schools Division of Batanes officially welcomed its newly hired employees for Calendar Year 2025 through the On Boarding of Newly Hired Teachers and Other Employees of SDO Batanes (Project ON TOES), held on August 15–16 at the Ivatan Conference Hall. The two-day activity aimed to enhance the knowledge, skills, and values of the new hires in line with Department of Education (DepEd) standards. Through a series of lectures and orientations, participants were briefed on important policies guiding public school service, as well as the benefits and perks of being a DepEd employee, including coverage from PhilHealth, membership in the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), and access to PAG-IBIG Fund programs. During the opening program, OIC - Schools Division Superintendent Dante J. Marcelo, PhD, CESO VI, delivered an inspiring message anchored on the fable The Hare and the Tortoise, underscoring the importance of an effective and efficient working attitude in achieving both personal growth and organizational success. He reminded participants that steady and consistent effort often leads to lasting success in the teaching profession. Moreover, he also made mention of the saliency of continuous improvement and the system that redound to quality services.
